Sherlyn Chopra grabbed the paparazzi’s attention by grooving at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival wearing a white and gold Indian lehenga choli. She is there to promote her movie “Kamasutra 3D” with the team.

The film’s director Rupesh Paul told IANS how Sherlyn was “very excited and she grooved for the paparazzi without any hesitation”.

“It was the midnight screening of an Italian movie. Sherlyn was in a lehenga choli and the French media asked Sherlyn to pose. When the paparazzi encouraged her, she started dancing to my surprise,” said Paul.

It was one of the choreographed numbers, which we trained her to shoot for ‘Kamasutra 3D’,” he added.

Sherlyn, who last year became the first Indian actress to pose for adult film magazine Playboy, flaunted south Indian-style jewellery with the outfit, and donned minimal makeup.

Ranbir Kapoor has denied reports that he and his family are trying to remake his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s 1951 classic film ‘Awara’.

“I believe that I shouldn’t remake such a classic film. Once a film like that is made you can’t make it again. I don’t think I have enough talent to do such a film,” Kapoor told reporters in Kolkata during a visit to the city.

When asked about reports quoting his father Rishi Kapoor saying they would remake ‘Awara’ with Ranbir in the lead, the 30-year-old actor said, “Even I read in the papers only.”

Starring the director-actor Raj Kapoor, Prithviraj Kapoor and Nargis, ‘Awara’ was included by Time magazine in its All-Time 100 list of the greatest films made since 1923.

Ranbir, who would be seen with Deepika Padukone in the romantic film ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, said he doesn’t have the six-pack abs needed to do an action film.

“Of course I want to do an action film. But for that I don’t have the body. When I get a good action film I will build my body for that,” said Kapoor.

Akshay Kumar met with an accident while shooting for his upcoming film.

Akshay was on Tuesday briefly admitted to a private hospital after the mishap.

The actor was admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in suburban Andheri at around 4 PM and was discharged soon after, sources close to the actor said on Tuesday night.

They did not disclose the nature of the injury suffered by the 45-year-old actor, but said he was given “primary treatment” and allowed to go home.

The actor apparently hurt his leg while shooting for the untitled film produced by Vipul Shah.

Yusuf, who has been guarding Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan on his promotional city tours for years, currently has a new assignment. His job is to guard B-Town’s sweetheart Ranbir Kapoor. And, Yusuf felt a sense of deja vu when he accompanied Ranbir to Indore and Kanpur three days ago to promote ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’.

A unit source says, “There were around 8,000 people at the Kanpur mall where Ranbir visited and about 1,000 at the Indore hotel booked for his stay. The organisers and Yusuf had a tough time getting the actor into the elevator. The security guard had only experienced something like this when Shah Rukh visited places. And though he was prepared for the mayhem because of his past experience of guarding SRK, there was a brief moment when he was taken aback seeing the impact RK Jr had on the cities. Not even the sweltering heat and the dust caused by the posse of vehicles that wheeled in because of the film unit’s presence could deter the people from crowding there to catch a glimpse of the Kapoor scion. And, Yusuf stood like a rock around the star.”

The couple is setting off for the UK this week and rumour is they will be house hunting as well

That Ajay Devgn and Kajol are headed to London for a holiday is known. However, rumours now doing the rounds are that the vacation is going to last for no less than a month, reason being Ajay has plans to buy a house there.

There are whispers in the industry that it’s a very large property, and can be termed a mansion. Buzz is the discussions have almost reached the final stage.

Apparently, Ajay’s close associate and producer, Kumar Mangat, will be joining the star couple in London sometime next week. A source told TOI, “Kajol and Ajay love London. They’ve been nursing a desire to buy property in the historic city for the longest time.”

In an exclusive interview to a leading daily, Bollywood’s most sought after actress Katrina Kaif has opened her heart out about her mentor Salman Khan and said that Salman’s advice is invaluable for her career.

On being asked whether Salman’s advice has been important to her or not, this is what the actress said.

“Yes, it’s been invaluable. He’s had a very strong basic sense of the working of the film industry, so yes; I think it’s been invaluable. But it’s quite similar to Anushka Sharma and all other YRF proteges having Adi (Aditya Chopra) advise them. I do feel that I have made some safe choices, but I don’t regret it because they were necessary at that time. Right or wrong!”

In Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD), Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone share a special camaraderie. In town today to promote the film, Ranbir talks about his leading lady.

On Deepika, the co-star

I got to know Deepika, the co-star with this film. We were very new in Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008). We were also in a relationship during that time, so it was different. In YJHD, we came together as professionals, both of us having spent five years in the industry. I haven’t been so intimidated by a co-star as much as I have been with Deepika, especially since I know her so well. She has surprised me as an actor with the kind of hard work that she puts in. I am proud of her.

On Deepika, the friend

Deepika and I have always been friends. It’s not that we keep in touch often, but whenever I have to reach out to her or vice versa, there is no sense of awkwardness. We are so caught up with our assignments and the people we work with that our lives centre around them. But Deepika and I will remain friends for a very long time. I will be her children’s godfather; I will play with them and all of that. We have that kind of relationship.

Arjun Kapoor has often credited Salman Khan for making him realise his potential and the actor reveals that ‘Dabangg’ star sometimes gets surprised by what he has created.

“I often talk about Salman because he made me realise what I was capable of. It was something that not even me or my family recognised. He spent four years training and guiding me,” Arjun told in an interview.

Salman continues to help Arjun even today and gets excited by his success.

“Today Salman is the most loved man in the country but he was not at the best phase of his career when he started helping me. He still takes a lot of interest in my career. He sees the trailers of my films and gets excited and sometimes he is surprised at what he has made out of me,” Arjun said.

Starting off as an overweight assistant director, Arjun would have stayed behind the camera had Salman not intervened and made him shed more than 50kgs.

Kangna Ranaut entered filmdom with hit crime-romance ‘Gangster – A Love story’ and the actress, whose latest release ‘Shootout At Wadala’ also did well, feels gangster thrillers are lucky for her.

“I think gangster-based films are very lucky for me. My debut film ‘Gangster’ in 2006 was successful, then came ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ and now ‘Shootout At Wadala’,” the 26-year-old said at the success bash of ‘Shootout At Wadala’.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, ‘Shootout At Wadala’ is the story of Mumbai police’s first official encounter in which they shot dead gangster Manya Surve. In the film, John Abraham plays Manya, while Kangna is seen as his love interest Vidya Joshi.

In her seven-year-long career, Kangna tried her hands at romance and comedy as well with ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Double Dhamaal’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. If these films did well at the box office, Kangna too got accolades for her performances.

“I think, in these kind of films people have appreciated me,” added the National Award winning actress.

Ranbir Kapoor, who loves travelling, says he is a loner and prefers to travel alone.

“I like to travel alone and over the years I have become a loner. I don’t need any company… I can even have my lunch alone. I am very comfortable with myself and don’t need any company,” the 30-year-old told reporters at an event.

The youth-centric romantic drama has been directed by Ayan Mukerji and also features Deepika Padukone.

Recollecting his memories of his first trip with his friends, Ranbir said, “My first trip with my friends was when I finished my 10th standard and we went to Goa. It was a great experience as it was my first trip without my parents. The way I looked at life completely changed after that trip. I can’t say what we did there.”

When asked what his favourite romantic destination is, the actor says romance can happen anywhere.

Ranbir says, “I think romance can happen anywhere. There is no romantic destination as such. As long as you are in love with a person, there is nothing like it.”

Chitrangada Singh has dismissed reports that she has filed for a mutual consent divorce with her golfer husband Jyoti Randhawa.

Chitrangada, 37, confirmed that she had gone to the Gurgaon court with her husband of 12-year but claimed it was for an internal settlement of a property dispute.

Media reports said Chitrangada and Randhawa, 41, had filed divorce plea in the family court on Friday following irreconcilable differences between the couple.

When contacted, Chitrangada denied that her marriage was in trouble.

“It is not true. We were at the court for the property dispute, an internal settlement. And there were speculations because of that,” Chitrangada told media persons.

The reports suggested that the actress was facing a tough time meeting her film commitments in Mumbai and looking after their 5-year-old son Zorawar.
