Preity Zinta has been signed up for Deepa Mehta’s Heaven On Earth which Mehta will complete before her mega-venture Luna.

She says, “Preity is perfect! I first met her at IIFA earlier this year. We talked about the real-life character of a Punjabi housewife who goes through domestic violence. Preity was keen. But the dates were a problem. They’ve now been worked out and Preity is on.”

The shooting for Deepa (and Preity’s) first Punjabi film begins in October.But before that, in the middle of September, Preity will be attending a workshop in Toronto. “It’s so that Preity can understand and come to grips with the character’s milieu and body language. I think Preity can look very very Punjabi,” observes Deepa.

Sir Ben Kingsley recently launched his own production house and is now looking towards Bollywood. Ben Kingsley was born as Krishna Bhanji and shot to fame with his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in  Attenborough’s Gandhi.  Now the Academy Award winner is coming to India and wants to finalize a Bollywood actress for an upcoming home production.

Though they are tight lipped about the project, Valerie Hoffman, one of the producers of Sir Ben Kinsley Pictures confirms the latest development. “Yes we shall be shooting the movie in India entirely,” he says. He has known Aishwarya Rai, because of her global presence in the world map, but he recently met Bipasha while hosting the 7 wonders in Lisbon. So is it true that they may star in the film? “Sir Ben is aware of both the pretty Indian actors and has attached both Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha to the project. But more than that we can’t comment on any other details until our script is complete.” he officially informs through an email.

Kareena and Saif have been in rumors for quite some time and now it seems the two got close during the shooting schedule of Tashan in Ladakh. However, these lovebirds are hardly concerned about all these and have been regulary spotted together. Kareena even brought in her birthday with Saif where Shahid was not present.
