All is not well between Kareena Kapoor and former boyfriend Shahid Kapur. The actress who seems to have moved on (with Saif Ali Khan) doesn’t want to share the same stage with her ex-boyfriend. That explains why she hastily opted out of the Star Gold Sabse Favourite Kaun show, which is scheduled for December 23.

The story goes that the actress was in advanced talks with the channel for a solo act. She had almost given her assent, but dropped out citing date problems when she got to know that Shahid is also performing at the same show. Sources indicate that Kareena decided to give the event a miss because she wanted to avoid coming face-to-face with Shahid.

Our source says, “Star Gold had approached Kareena as they wanted her to dance to the songs of Jab We Met songs. She also was keen to be a part of the show. But she suddenly dropped out saying that she had previous commitments.”

Interestingly, Kareena, who is currently out of town filming for a television commercial, will be back in the city before the show on December 23.

The source adds, “Understandably, she wanted to avoid any kind of awkwardness with Shahid. They didn’t part ways on a good note and they have been avoiding each other for a while now.”

Kareena and Shahid haven’t met each other ever since they broke up before the release of Jab We Met. Even when the film was releasing, the duo made sure that they did not attend the same trials and screenings.

A source close to the actress says, “They are not comfortable with each other. They have been careful and refrain from attending any dos where they may bump into each other.”

Samar Khan, who is putting together the show, says, “Yes, Shahid Kapur is performing at our show.”

When quizzed about Kareena, he diplomatically says, “The channel was talking to the actors. You have to check with them.”
