If the latest tinsel tattle is to be believed, Aditya Chopra will direct a film for home banner Yashraj Films this year.
2007 was the worst year for YRF in recent history, with only one film ( Chak De India ) of their five productions turning out to be a hit. And to bail his production house out of this mess, it is Aditya Chopra himself who is learnt to be gearing up to return to direction after a long gap of eight years.
Aditya made his directorial debut with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge , which turned out to be one of the top blockbusters ever in the Hindi film industry. He made his second film Mohabattein in 1999. The film, however, could not repeat the success of Chopra’s first movie.
Now, Chopra is reported to be working on the script of a film, which he will direct later this year.
Expectedly, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee are topmost on Chopra’s wishlist for this film. Incidentally, this would be the first time Aditya will direct Rani.
Reports say Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta are also being considered for the film.
The yet-untitled movie will go on the floors in the middle of this year. If things go as planned, it should make it to the theatres by the end of this
