Ranbir Kapoor blew a kiss straight from the ramp to actress Deepika Padukone.
Attired in a black and beige “sherwani” or Indian-style coat with intricate ethnic motifs at the hemline and sequin work at the collars, the star walked the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) ramp for designer Arjun Khanna here late Saturday.
The sherwani was tastefully teamed with beige churidar and red scarf to give a dramatic effect, the actor’s face and hair were painted golden.
“Before I came here I didn’t know that my face would be painted golden. Only when I reached the venue and sat on a chair (backstage) to get the make-up done, I got to know about it. But I enjoyed the whole experience,” Ranbir told IANS after the show.
He refused to comment on his romantic link-up with Deepika. Starting with his signature dance step from the title song of “Saawariya”, Ranbir descended on the runway.
And then he spotted Deepika sitting next to his mother Neetu Singh. Cutting short his catwalk, he blew a flying kiss towards her. Deepika blushed and hid her face behind her cascade of hair.
While Deepika sported a light grey tube top with abstract prints matched with slim fit dark blue jeans, yesteryear actress Neetu Singh was decked in white trousers and a kurta top with white, red and blue geometric prints and Swarovski work at the neckline.
“There couldn’t have a better confession of love than this. Ranbir made it clear at the LFW that Deepika is his love interest,” said Rashmi Singh, who attended the show.
Unlike his contemporaries, Ranbir did not take expert advice from his ladylove, who was a model by profession. “No I did not take any tips from Deepika before walking the ramp. I had never walked the ramp before. It was the first time for me but I was quite confident. It proved to be an excellent experience,” Ranbir said.
“Moreover, the Indian fashion industry is growing very fast and if I can contribute a little to it, it would be great,” he added.
When asked how fashion conscious he is, Ranbir said: “I am not fashionable at all. My knowledge about fashion is only through Arjun. Fashion for me is being comfortable.”
After the show, Deepika left the venue with Neetu in the same car.
The five-day fashion extravaganza at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) would end on April 2. Fifty-seven designers, established and new, including the likes of Narendra Kumar, Kiran Uttam Ghosh, Neeta Lulla, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Wendell Rodricks will show their collections.

Here is a recent interview of Aamir Khan courtsey India Glitz.A lot of people have been speculating your interest in being part of the cricket leagues in India. Your take on that…..
You know, I love cricket. I love cricket as a fan. I enjoy the game more as a fan. I never intend on owning a team or so. Basically, I can’t handle too many things at the same time like many others. I can barely do one thing at a time.
Aamir , once again you are into an environmental cause. The last time around, the Narmada issue created such protests and your film ‘Fanaa’ was struck by opposition. Don’t you fear a repeat as you once again take up such a cause?
I think it is the basic responsibility of every human being to contribute towards the welfare of our environment. It’s the responsibility of everyone; be it a celebrity or the media. We need to bring about awareness.
It is very important to be aware of our limited resources. How we are using these resources do matter. We all can contribute in little ways to preserve the environment. Like save water while having a bath. Or this very paper (pointing towards the notepad); writing on both the sides.
I am writing on both sides….
(Laughs)Ya, ya I was just drawing an example.
So, when did this whole environmental awareness strike you and how would you like to create awareness on a larger scale?
For the last 8-10 years, I have been tracking the global environmental scenario. See as of now I don’t have a script on an environmental film but if someone comes up with a good one I’ll surely be a part of it. Films do have a big impact in India but as of now partnering Coke and the media seems the right way to bring about that impact.
Talking about endorsements, a lot of actors endorse a variety of products; be it cigarettes, alcohol etc. Your comment on that…
No comments at all on what others are endorsing. Why should I get judgmental? All I can say is that I’m just not comfortable endorsing just anything especially alcohol and cigarettes.
Tell us a little about your association with Coke. Over the years and in the midst of controversy you have stood by the brand. What is it in Coke that reflects Aamir Khan?
I’m happy to be associated with quality.
(Gulping a tall glass of Pink coloured shake) We both have similar qualities- Refreshing, conscious…
(Thinks for a while) Actually Coke is my favorite brand and it is no doubt the top brand.
(Pointing towards the tall glass) That surely doesn’t look like coke…..
Well, that’s my protein shake. Actually I’m on a very strict diet for my next film ‘Ghajini’. I have been working out quite a bit to match the character of Surya.
So what’s the status of Ghajini?
Ghajini is set to release on the 1st of October. Two more months of shooting to go, actually only the action sequences are remaining.
What’s next after Ghajini?
I have signed ‘Idiots’ with Vidhu Vinod Chopra; being directed by Raju. Then there is my own home production ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ directed by Abbas Tyrewala . The film marks the debut of my nephew-Imraan.

Saif Ali Khan is completely besotted by Kareena Kapoor. Recently, Saif threw a party in honour of Kareena as he believes that his latest film, Race has succeeded only because Bebo (Kareena) is lucky for him.
Saif invited a few of his and Kareena’s close friends at a suburban five star hotel for a dinner party on Wednesday. The guest list included Bebo’s two school friends apart from Saif’s business partner Dinesh Vijan and personal trainer Satya, who also accompanies the actor on his outdoor shoots.
Says a source present at the dinner table, “Although the couple is extremely busy because of their packed work schedule, the dinner party was planned by Saif. He invited his and Bebo’s close friends to celebrate the success of his latest film. He thinks that Bebo has brought him a lot of luck in his personal as well as professional life.”
The party started at 11 pm as Saif was busy shooting for an ad film while Bebo was shooting for her film opposite Salman at Filmcity.
“We opened a champagne bottle to celebrate after which there a lot of light-hearted banter on the dinner table. Some of us have seen the rushes of Tashan and we were teasing the couple about their sizzling chemistry on-screen. Bebo kept blushing while Saif watched her and smiled,” adds the source.
And a dinner with close friends isn’t all that Saif had planned for the evening.
“After the dinner, Saif had planned a cosy candle light dinner for just him and Bebo. Saif is extremely happy with the way things are. He gives all the credit to Bebo for his personal as well as professional success,” adds the source.

When Mallika Sherawat is not busy chartering planes back from events in Bhopal, she’s busy shopping for jewellery. What’s new you’d ask, given diamonds are a girl’s best friend? Well, the thing is that the Jat seductress is not buying trinkets for herself, but for a beautiful little baby boy.
She’s bought a dazzling, blue sapphire for her close friend, Princess Myasa’s (the daughter of the King of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani) new born son, Mohammad. Mallika is expected to fly out to Qatar early April to visit the Princess and little Mohammad. Mallika had attended the Princess’ wedding on a special invitation from the King of Qatar in January last year. Well, Mallika is as dazzling as the baubles she gifts. And we just have to see whether she flies commercial or charters a jet yet again!

Bollywood hottie Shilpa Shetty is reportedly shocked to hear that she is married.
A report on a website has published a picture of Shilpa’s visit to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple this week along with her mother and sister Shamita Shetty and boyfriend Raj Kundra, and speculated the actress has secretly married him.
“Shilpa is flabbergasted with such irresponsible journalism,” said her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
Apart from misreporting, the piece is accompanied by dirty and derogatory comments by various surfers on a discussion board below the write-up, adding insult to injury for Shilpa.
“Many of these comments are lewd and bring shame to our culture. It is surprising how a respectable website has allowed such vulgar comments to be put up without scrutinizing them,” stated Bhagwagar.
Seeking an apology from the website, the publicist has already intimated the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell and added that Shilpa may file for defamation if prompt action is not taken by the website.
“In the name of journalism, citizen journalism, discussion boards on the internet and Freedom of the Press, today’s media coolly misuses these liberties to encroach upon and attack the personal lives of film stars.

Celina Jaitley alleged that cricketers from across the border abused her after she performed at the Indian Cricket League (ICL) match between Lahore Badshahs and Delhi Giants.
On Sunday, Celina had finished her performance and was taking what she calls a “glory round” with her security personnel around the stadium, when she heard loud abuses in Hindi coming out of the players’ enclosure.
“At first I couldn’t believe where it was coming from. I still want to give them the benefit of doubt because it’s so hard to believe they could behave this way,” she said with a shudder, recalling that she wanted to rush back to her car and drive away from the nightmare.
“But I couldn’t because the security guys wouldn’t let me pass. So I was stuck listening to myself being described in the most colourful language,” Celina, who was seen in films like No Entryand Shakalaka Boom Boom, told IANS.
The ex-Miss India refuses to lay the blame on anyone for the abusive incident, but she does admit that she recognises the Pakistani players because she had participated in a TV interview with them for a sports channel.
