The Khiladi is at it again. Taking potshots at his contemporaries, that is. Akshay’s target this time is King Khan. At a recent interview the actor said that he felt Amitabh Bachchan was the real king of the industry.
“A king is someone who is loved by all. I think, the only person who deserves to be called king is Amitabh Bachchan. He has spent 35-40 years here. We keep tagging each other, but we’re just 15-16 years old in the industry,” he said. The praise didn’t end there.
“He’s been so consistent. He’s always been a down to earth guy,” added Akshay Does that mean he’s negating Shah Rukh’s claim? “I don’t know what others think but for me he (Amitabh) is the king,” Akshay replied.
In the mood to talk, Akshay spoke at length about various other issues as well. Asked if he would appear on Salman’s show to promote Singh is Kinng, he said, “Why not?” But what about the rumoured cold war between him and Salman? Akshay’s reply was unexpected: “My onscreen chemistry with Katrina is often discussed. I am asked if I helped in shaping Katrina’s career, since we have given many hits together. But it could also be that she has been instrumental in bettering my career.”
Akshay also spoke about signing a film with ex-flame Shilpa Shetty. “She has not informed me as yet,” he said jokingly and added, “I would love to work with her We have given many hits in past. Why not to pair again?”
Enjoying life to the fullest right now, the action hero is all set for the release of Singh is Kinng, in which he plays a Sikh called Happy Singh. “I belong to Amritsar and I know how pure and loving Sikhs are. I know how they react, talk and behave. So it was more like living my self on screen,” said Akshay signing off.
