The comely daughter of filmmaker Indra Kumar makes her Bollywood debut opposite Himesh Reshammiya in director Satish Kaushik’s ‘Karzzzz’, which, as we all know by now, is a modern remake of Subhash Ghai’s hit movie ‘Karz’, starring Rishi Kapoor , Simi Garewal and Tina Munim.

Shweta enacts the role played by Tina Munim in the original flick. She plays a vivacious, bubbly and naughty girl who is also innocent at the same time.

Deepika Padukone, who is in the national capital to walk the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil, says she does not follow any fashion trends.

‘I believe in being comfortable in what I wear instead of wearing something in fashion that does not suit my body. I don’t follow fashion trends,’ said Deepika.

Deepika says her favourite designer is Manish Malhotra, who is popular with most Bollywood icons.

‘Manish always goes out of his way for me and does a good job. He also did my first film ‘Om Shanti Om’,’ she said.

On Thursday, the actress was dressed in a one-shoulder, short salmon coloured dress designed by Shantanu-Nikhil, who are showcasing their collection at the WIFW as part of the sponsor show for personal care brand Fiama Di Wills.

“I respect what the Censor Board has decided. Fashion is a realistic film that scares people so may be that’s why the certificate was given,” Priyanka said nonchalantly.

With her last two films bombing at the box office Priyanka has all her hopes pinned on Fashion. So no wonder then that the film is close to her heart.

“We have worked really hard on the film, worked late nights so hope it works because it is a special film,” Priyanka said.

Preity Zinta, who is gearing up for her next release Heroes, has become a sports fan and says she had the time of her life at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore.

“Ness (Wadia) and I had the best evening of our life – all right, one of the best,” Preity gushed. “It was the first ever Grand Prix in the night and, boy, were we happy to be there! But I was exhausted. It went on till the wee hours,” said Preity, who was there for the event last week.

This wasn’t Preity’s first Grand Prix.

“It was my third Grand Prix. I attended one in Spain and the other in Melbourne. Our very special trip to the first nocturnal Grand Prix was arranged by Mr. B.S. Ong – he was one of the chief organisers and one of the big boys in Singapore. He’s like the king and he isn’t even a Sinngh, ha ha.

“We had a rocking time. Regulars at the Grand Prix say it was one of the best organised Grand Prixs of all times.”

Preity says there were lots of people from India.
