This is no joke. When it comes to telephone lines and internet connect with his fans, it is Shahid Kapoor who is poster boy for all ‘phoners’ — at least where ZOOM is concerned.

As many know, the industry’s first (and only) ‘100% Bollywood channel’ has launched a new show called Ring-A-Star where the star takes calls on TV, even as callers can connect directly with him and speak via phones and SMS call-ins. Tonight it’s the industry hottie who is gonna take calls from his fans from all over the world — some of who will stay awake at odd hours across the world to chat with their Badmaash Company hero. And ever since we’ve opened lines to log the callers, we’ve already been flooded with calls from fans of Shahid for Ring-A-Star, from all over the world. At last count, over 2,000-plus calls from all part of the globe.

When we told Shahid that he may have to face a deluge later today, he couldn’t stop grinning and is eager as hell to connect with his fans directly.

He is one of the biggest stars at home and is known for pulling off some of the most life-threatening stunts with élan but a little real life accident caused much trouble to Akshay Kumar.

The actor, who was recently in Canada for the shoot of his upcoming film ‘Thank You’, was fined by a cop after he ran into his car. Though the actor tried his best to get out of a traffic ticket while shooting, he ended up paying a heavy fine for the mishap.

Confirming the news a source said, “It was a simple shot where Akshay had to reverse his car and then move forward. The camera was set across the road to get a proper shot and the unit members were there too. There were a couple of retakes from different angles. Akshay did not realise that a cop had parked his car behind him. So while giving another take, Akshay hit the police car.”

What’s more is that the actor wasn’t even given a chance to explain his side. Before he could explain about the shoot and that it was part of the shot, the cop had cut a ticket.

Hrithik Roshan’s Kites is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year.

The film directed by Anurag Basu and starring Mexican beauty Barbara Mori and Kangna Ranaut releases on May 21.

So what does the movie has in store for us? Will Hrithik return with a superhit in his hands? Will Kites soar or will it crash? These and many questions were answered by none other than the star himself during a chat with his fans on May 7.

Deepika Padukonehas once expressed her desire to act with Bollywood hunk Salman Khanand Salman too is crazy to act with the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress Deepika Padukone. Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotrihas decided to rope the two charming actors opposite each other. It is said that Salman is quiet impressed with Deepika’s acting and was waiting for the opportunity to knock his door.

Previously, it was heard that they were signed for Anees Bazmee’s upcoming film but later the rumor died down.

But uncertainty again hangs over their casting because of the two reasons. Firstly Deepika is a close buddy of Shahrukh Khan and Shahrukh is not in good terms with Salman. Secondly, Deepika’s ex boyfriend is rumored to have dating Salman Khan’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Whatever it may be, Salman and Katrina’s die-hard fans might be eagerly waiting to see them together scorching the silver screen.

Barbara Mori has already whipped up a national wave of interest, courtesy the winning promos of ‘Kites’. Even as the Roshan production readies to illumine cinemas, Mori is already beaming with another B town offer in her kitty. If all goes well, then I should be back in India during January to shoot for the film, reveals Mori in a tabloid chat.

Mori’s had a great equation with her lead star Hrithik Roshan (”he had me in splits all the time”) and director Anurag Basu I also came to know about Anurag’s valiant fight against cancer.

Besides, she says Hrithik and she had a great blast learning…cuss words! Hrithik taught me some of the Hindi ones, and whenever I’d say them unknowingly, the unit members would start laughing. she says.

The beauty role model for many, Katrina Kaif recently found herself at loss of words, while attending a press conference, accompanied by Prakash Jha and the entire cast of her much-awaited film ‘Raajneeti’. The normally verbose actress was finding it difficult to express her views because the language this time she preferred to speak to the media was Hindi!

Queen’s tongue is what Katrina prefers while conversing with people at media gatherings. Rarely the girl dabbles in Hindi, but this time – journalists came prepared and they knew that for ‘Raajneeti’, director Prakash Jha has painstakingly made the actress learn Hindi so that she can justify the role of a woman politician. Even the scribes wanted Katrina to answer their queries in chaste Hindi, something, which the director claims the actress has spoken fluently in the film.
