Bina Rai passes away
Yesteryear’s noted actress Bina Rai passed away in Mumbai following a heart attack on Sunday. She was 73. Bina Rai acted in various films including ‘Anarkali’ and ‘Tajmahal’. She started her filmy career in 1951 with ‘Kali Ghata’. Rai also won a filmfare for the movie ‘Ghunghat.
Bina Rai married to late Prem Nath Malhotra, brother-in-law to Raj Kapoor.
She was survived by two sons Prem Kishan and Kailash Nath, a granddaughter Akanksha Malhotra and a grandson Siddharth Malhotra.
Bina Rai was the noted actress of Black and White era of the Hindi Cinema.
Born in Lucknow on June 4, 1936, she was first year student at IT college when she won a contest to work in film ‘Kali Ghata’
