It has virtually been a case of jumping from the fire into the water for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.If fire is a recurrent motif in the cinema of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, water seems to be Mani Ratnam’s favourite element.

According to members of the cast in Raavan more than 80 percent of the film has been shot in, under, around or below rain and water in the forests, rendering Raavan the most hydro-centric film in the history of Indian cinema.

Says a member of the cast, “We were drenched to our skin constantly. Abhishek and Aishwarya were talking dancing singing reciting poetry in the water.”

Abhishek’s character of the outlaw even proposes to Aishwarya in the water.

According to a source, there comes a point in the plot where a cop’s wife begins to get attracted to the outlaw who kidnaps her.He proposes to her circling in the water instead of around the holy fire while Aishwarya stands at the river bank.

The Bachchans normally do not mix business with pleasure. But when Aishwarya Rai landed in Mumbai from Paris, she broke the golden rule when she dropped in unannounced to meet her actor husband Abhishek Bachchan at the Reliance Web World where he was doing out-of-town press interviews.

“Lately, Abhishek and Aishwarya have had very little time to spend together,” said a source close to the actress who made the surprise visit Thursday.

“After their short anniversary holiday, Abhishek got busy with the shooting of Abhinay Deo’s ‘Game’ in Greece, while Aishwarya returned to India for a stint of ‘Robot’. She was then in Paris to honour (retired former World No.1 Brazilian tennis player) Gustavo Kuerten for his work with disadvantaged children.”

“At the charity dinner that followed Aishwarya bonded with Steffi Graf and Mary Pierce and kept missing Abhishek because he’s a big fan of both.”

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are likely to skip the IIFA Weekend to be held in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo next month. Aishwarya who is back from shooting in Chennai with Rajnikant for “Robot” will travel to Paris in the first week of June.

“She is going for a Longines (international watch brand which the actress promotes) commitment to Paris where she will be attending the French open,” her spokesperson said.

Abhishek’s spokesperson said the actor will be shooting for Abhinay Deo’s “Game” in Istanbul. Abhishek’s father and megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador of IIFA since the event began ten years ago. There are speculations that the Big B too may give the event a miss this year following two incidents of demonstrations by some Tamil groups in Mumbai outside his home to protest against the choice of IIFA venue.

However, Bachchan has not made any statement about his schedule so far. The IIFA is scheduled to be held from June 3 to 5 in Colombo.

The permanent Cannes attendee since last few years, Aishwarya Rai walked through the red carpet at the gala opening of 63rd Cannes festival.

Gorgeous Rai arrived at cannes with fellow L’oreal Spokemodel, American actress Eva Longoria. Her husband Abhishek Bachchan did not escorted her this time.

She looked smashing in a violet tulle and mousseline gown from Elie Saab and hair done up in a pompadour updo. Rai is here to promote her much awaited film, Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ravan’, whose first look will be unveiled on May 17.

Her co-stars including husband Abhishek and Tamil actor Vikram will attend the evening along with the filmmaker.

Hrithik Roshan’s Kites is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year.

The film directed by Anurag Basu and starring Mexican beauty Barbara Mori and Kangna Ranaut releases on May 21.

This one is Aishwarya’s second tamil movie, her first one was “Iruvar”. Infact she started her career with “Iruvar” in 1997.

“I understand a bit of Tamil and speak a bit of it. For me, it is very important that I understand the meaning of my dialogues before I deliver them. I can’t just mug up the dialogues. So for ‘Raavan’, I made sure I knew what I was saying and yes, I have improved a lot on the language and I am confident about doing more Tamil stuff in future,” Aishwarya said.

“After ‘Raavan’, it was like – ‘Come on! Bring on ‘Robot’ (now ‘Endhiran’),” she told reporters at the music launch of “Raavan” here Saturday.

“Raavan” is Ratnam’s much-awaited project and also stars Abhishek Bachchan, southern superstar Vikram and Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan. The movie has been simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil, with a slightly different cast.

Aishwarya Rai is acting opposite Akshay Kumar in Hindi film ‘Action Replay’. It’s produced on a grand scale by Vipul Shah.

In one song in the film, Aishwarya changes 125 costumes. The song was shot over several days. In Indian film, this is a record. Vipul Shah speaks about this feat.

“In one song, Aishwarya Rai changes costumes 125 times. Since this is necessary for the song, she did it. I think this is a record in Indian films.”

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are pretty famous to make their lovey-dovey appearences before public but despite making such efforts, the couple lost out to actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif when it came to name the ‘Hottest Bollywood couple of the decade’.

Of the total 38, ooo in an online poll, Sallu-Kats grabbed almost 36 percent of the total votes leaving Abhi-Ash to 27 percent of the same. Actors Bipasha-John scored almost 13 percent but what came as the most surprising was when Kareena-Saif was left to a mere six percent of the votes.

The other categories such as ‘Hottest liplock of the decade’ and superstar of the decade were also put up as a poll.

Emraan and Mallika as usual topped on the rank of the ‘Hottest liplock of the decade’ with a total of 39 percent of the votes for their famous kissing scenes in ‘Murder’.

The most beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai will be seen acting with her ex-boyfriend Vivek Oberoi once again. After Kyun Ho Gaya Na, both of them will be seen together after a long gap for Satish Kaushik new movie ‘Tansen’.

“Tansen” is a multi million project where Abhishek and Aishwarya will play the lead role. So if Aish and Abhishek are paired opposite each other, what role is offered to Vivek?? That’s the question, well !

The film’s shooting is set to begin in the mid of June, preferably in a foreign location.

Svelte beauty Aishwarya Rai suffered through uncountable number of cuts and bruises while shooting for her film ‘Raavana’.

Reportedly, the actress was to climb a steepy rock mountain for one of the scene in the film and while performing the stunt, she underwent the injuries.
‘Raavana’ takes inspiration from the epic Ramayana, and so the major part of the film is shot in the thick dense forests of Kerela. Needless to say how difficult it is to shoot there in amidst wild animals and difficult circumstances.

Also, ‘Raavana’ is being filmed in Tamil and Hindi simultaneously with Vikram as a lead in the Tamil version while Abhishek playing the lead in the Hindi edit.

Aishwarya is playing the central character in both the versions, so she has to climb the mountain twice as much as everyone else with Abhishek and Vikram separetely.
