Amitabh Bachchan defended his decision to boycott the Filmfare awards, where he was adjudged best actor for his role in ‘Paa’, saying he did it to protest against the “slanderous” media report about his daughter-in-law Aishwarya.
“The article was indecent and any man in the world must oppose if such an obscene article is written about a woman in his family,” the 68-year-old actor said on his blog.
The veteran movie star termed the article in a city-based tabloid, as “slanderous”.
Lambasting the report Bachchan said “the modesty of a lady in my house was slandered… the article slandered Aishwarya, so it was very difficult to participate in a function organised by the same media house.”
No women would like her personal issues such as fertility or motherhood being discussed in this manner, he added.

Its quite shocking but a lawsuit has been filed in a court charging Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan with violating the disabilities act through his latest film “Paa” in which he plays a 13-year-old boy suffering from progeria, which accelerates the ageing process. Big B has been accused of poking fun at people with disabilities. The case has been filed by Patna High Court lawyer Shruti Singh in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate under The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. It has also been filed against “Paa” director R. Balkrishna.
“I filed a case in the court demanding a probe into whether ‘Paa’ violated the act or not,” Singh said.
“My stand is simple: If it violated the disability act, the authorities should act against the producer and actors of the film for making a joke of disabled people,” she added. She said the court will hear the case next week. According to Singh, the act is guided by the philosophy of empowering people with disabilities and their associates. The act endeavors to introduce an instrument for promoting equality and participation of people with disabilities on the one hand, and eliminating discrimination of all kinds on the other.

Amitabh Bachchan has criticized Slumdog Millionaire’s success and believes it only made big internationally because of its Western director- Danny Boyle.
Slumdog Millionaire has come not only under Big B’s ire but also many Indians feel that the flick only focused on the bad and under developed part of India.
Big B wrote on his blog, “If SM (Slumdog Millionaire) projects India as a Third World dirty underbelly developing nation and causes pain and disgust among nationalists and patriots, let it be known that a murky underbelly exists and thrives even in the most developed nations.”
“It’s just that the SM idea, authored by an Indian and conceived and cinematically put together by a Westerner, gets creative (Golden) Globe recognition. The other would perhaps not.”

Though they belong to totally different generations and have done a generation-challenged and challenging love story together, fate seems to have bonded Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu is an strange an inextricable clasp.
After doing Cheeni Kam a completely contemporary take on marriage and gender equations, the Big B and Tabu now go back to several centuries for a film on the life of Emperor Ashoka.
Entitled The Legend Of Kunal the film is to be directed by Chandraprakash Diwedi. It will be produced by Mr Bachchan’s company AB Corp Ltd
What comes as a surprise is to know that the progressively-reclusive Hyderabad-based Tabu has finally given the nod to a film after almost a year, her first since Balki’s Cheeni Kam which was not an easy project to go through for either the actress or the crew.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is said to be the legend of Indian Hindi cinema, has finally disclosed his fears. Recently on the music release function of Singh is Kinng when Salman walked in with her beau Katrina, Amitabh soon jumped on to his legs and walked away without even informing the cast and crew of Singh is Kinng.
Salman’s and Aishwarya’s affair is still haunting big B till date and this is said to be the reason for his exit. It is reported that Amitabh agreed to come to the function of the music release on the basis that he will be only chief guest for the functions. But Vipul Shah who is the director of this film also welcomed Salman when he wanted to accompany his beau Katrina who happens to be the female lead in this film.
Seeing this Amitabh made a quick exist. Actually he was to host the function and also had to release the music. But this entire program was done by Sallu Bhai. When Vipul called to Amitabh, the old man tried to dominate him. But Vipul hinted that now the time of the old man has gone and if he wishes to mingle with the young blood can come on.
But Amitabh was afraid of Salman and so made a quick exit. Aishwarya Rai marriage with Abhishek has made Amitabh a hated person in the film industry.
Will this mess end up in a happy ending; all this will be known as time passes?
