Sure, a leading anti-perspirant has been launched in India by Hindustan Unilever Limited, with Asin being signed as the brand ambassador for the brand in India.

Talking about the brand, Asin states, “Sure promises ‘No Sweat’, which is exactly what an anti-perspirant is supposed to do. I use Sure and am happy with the results. I truly recommend consumers to include Sure in their daily hygiene regime. Sure is absolutely safe to use and does not have any side effects.”

The Sure anti-perspirant range consists of three variants – Passion and Free spirit for women and Sport Defense for Men. All these variants are available as roll-ons and in aerosol cans. Sure is priced at a reasonable amount of Rs 65 for 40 ml and Rs 40 for 25 ml packaging and is available in all the retail outlets across country.

WHAT would Bollywood be without catfights? We keep hearing stories of rivalries between actresses and their petty fights. So, when we came to know Deepika Padukone was good friends with Asin, it came as a breath of fresh air. Now, however, the buzz has it that their friendship is going sour, all because of a film.

The grapevine is abuzz with reports that once- upon- atime- pals Deepika and Asin don’t see eye- to- eye anymore.

The reason is believed to be Anees Bazmee’s untitled film, which is a remake of southern hit Ready.

What we learnt from our sources is that Deepika was first approached by Anees for the film, which also stars Salman Khan. But Deepika showed some reluctance in signing on the dotted line owing to her tight schedule. A source says,’ The moment Anees realised this, he rushed to Asin to sign her for the film.’ Now Asin is officially onboard but Deepika is miffed that she said yes to a film which was first offered to her.

We hear she was eyeing the role and was keen to work with Anees and Sallu. And this, it seems, has come in the way of their friendship.

The London Dreams girl Asin is reported to be the heroine opposite John Abraham in the Hindi remake of master filmmaker Gautham Menon’s super hit cop story Khakha Khakha (Tamil), starring Suriya and his actress-wife Jyotika.

The shooting of this untitled Hindi remake is all set to begin in May under the direction of Nishikant Kamath. The original director Gautam Menon was originally expected to direct the Hindi version, but he stepped out of the project for some reasons.

“Although Genelia was considered for the remake, they dropped the idea as John had already worked with Genelia in Hook Ya Crook and they wanted a fresh pairing. Asin has already worked with Vipul Shah in London Dreams so they decided to sign her. The film is important for John at this stage of his career as his last three films Ashayein, Hook ya Crook and Abbas Tyrewala’s next film have been put on hold for various reasons,” a source close to the makers was quoted as saying.

We wish a very happy birthday to Asin Thottumkal. The Kerala-born actress is currently enjoying the promotion campaign for her new film London Dreams and recently talked about how co-star Salman Khan and her father got along together on set. “Salman and my father got along very well and he even gifted my father one autographed portrait,” she said.

Producer Vipul Shah has dreamed up an interesting way to promote London Dreams, the story about two village kids who want to be rock stars. He’s going to put on two rock shows in Delhi and Mumbai starring the cast of Salman, Asin and Ajay Devgan. “I see no point in the traditional media interactions,” he explained, “Besides, both the actors have done enough media in the last two months for their other films. Since London Dreams is about on-stage experiences the rock concerts seemed like a good idea.”

Just one film old in Bollywood, Asin Thottumkal has had more than her share of controversies. The miffed actress, who is a superstar down south, wonders why “people are targeting” her.

“Please tell me why people are targeting me? I don`t know why everybody is trying to give me a hard time. I am a newcomer, what have I done (in Bollywood)?” asked an exasperated Asin. “I am clueless why people are just interested in creating stories which are not true about me. I haven`t figured that out,” she added

“Apparently a lot of rubbish has been written about me and most of my interviews are wasted clarifying those,” Asin told reporters.The 23-year-old made her Bollywood debut opposite Aamir Khan in the hit psychological action thriller “Ghajini” last year and became an overnight sensation.

She has, however, been caught up in a string of rumours — a recent one being that the actress refused a role in Farah Khan`s next directorial venture, “Happy New Year”, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Asin had a dream start with Bollywood as she bagged films with two Khans – Aamir and Salman. She was very vocal that she wanted to work with the third powerful Khan – Shah Rukh. Funnily, when she had the chance, she turned it down!

A few days ago, Farah Khan offered her a role in her next, Happy New Year, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, which is slated to go on the floors by end of this year.

Asin took her time to mull over the offer, consulted her father and then sent word to Farah that she won’t be doing the film. “Ever since Asin appeared on Farah’s show Tere Mere Beach Mein, they have been in touch. When Farah offered her the role, initially Asin was quite excited. It is not known why she refused Farah’s film,” says a source.

Ghajini fame beautiful actress Asin Thotumkal may not have much films on hand but the talks are in progress with a big producer, in the meanwhile the actress isn’t sitting idle.

During the last month, Asin has been busy to shoot for various renowned brand names. Asin recently shot for Big Bazaar and Tata Sky, the two big shots in the business arena.

Asin was shooting with prominent photographer Jatin Kampani on Friday for the print advertisement of Big Bazaar.

A source disclosed, “We have already shot the television commercials for Big Bazaar a month before along with MS Dhoni who is our our brand ambassador when he was in India. This is the second phase of the company’s advertising campaign.”

Ghajini girl Asin received a marriage proposal from one of her fans and the man did it with passion and panache. He sent her a love letter and a diamond.

Wow! That’s our reaction, but what about Asin, how did she react? The dainty actress confirms the news and was quoted as saying, “It’s an extremely personal issue involving a fan and I wouldn’t really like to comment on it.”

So, for the actress this is a personal issue but one can’t deny that she was overwhelmed by it. According to a source, for Asin it was a bolt-from-the-blue moment, but a bit embarrassing too as it’s not everyday that an actress gets a marriage proposal along with a marvelous, glittering solitaire. So, she was indeed taken aback by this gesture of a frenzied fan.

Asin recently shot the new Big Bazaar TV Commercial with Indian cricket team’s captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni at a studio in Filmcity, Goregaon, Mumbai. Asin had been signed up as Big Bazaar brand ambassador just few months back, but had only done a print ad campaign with them since then. This is her first TV ad shoot for the brand.

It is learnt that this recent ad shoot between Asin and Dhoni took an entire day to shoot and saw many clothes changes for both of them. In fact, during the breaks both Asin and Dhoni even indulged in playing games. Dhoni seems to be fast gaining popularity amongst brands as just recently another ad featuring Bollywood hottie Bipasha Basu was seen on TV for an international shoe brand.

It’s a mix of English and Sanskrit. And yes, it is my real name, not a screen name. You can give credit to my parents who came up with such an unusual name. It’s their creativity.”
