Well, the Bengali Bombshell Bipasha Basu is a real gem of an actor. To be precise, she’s one of those actors who have put their significant marks in Bollywood. But she still is not satisfied with her kind of roles that she has done.

May be that’s the reason why she is trying to get herself out of her so called ‘Sexy’ image that she is usually seen in.Talking about her role in her much talked movie Pankh she says, “The character that I am portraying in Pankh is called Nandini. She is as weird as girl from a village can ever be. It’s an angry young woman kind of a character”

There is no set guideline and its completely odd for a girl to portray this kind of a role.

Bipasha Basu’s ingress into Mani Ratnam’s much talked movie ‘Raavana’. Now it is said that the lady is nearly out of the legendary director’s project. The sexy actress was roped in to play Raavan’s wife Mandodari.

Sources reveal that Mandodari’s character needed much space in the movie and is more dominating too than the other leading ladies, Aishwarya Rai and Priyamani, in the movie. Meanwhile, Bips is really upset over the news and said, “It’s heartbreaking but better than having my character being chopped or totally edited when lot of effort had gone to work out the role for this character.”

However, the director’s publicist stated that he did not want to any inequality to her role and he would see that they both work together next time. So one has to wait for sometime to see whether the Bengali Bombshell is really off the movie or not. For, it is said that either Mandodari’s character will remain in the movie or Bips will be replaced.

A few years ago, Bipasha and Katrina couldn’t stand face to face and Bipasha went on making comments about Katrina in every other interview of hers, but now she regrets doing so.

Bipasha confesses, ” I said I am not best friends with Katrina Kaif,I regret the fact that I took Katrina’s name,I believe that if you own up to your mistakes you don’t become small, I have never taken anybody’s name like this before and neither I had any problems like this before. I would like to say on National television that I regret making those comments,I regret naming Katrina.

Bipasha also revealed that she doesn’t mind working with Katrina in future.

Bipasha Basu had a quite horrendous Durga Puja celebration this time for the actress was groped by a stranger at a Durga Puja pandal. According to reports, the incident occurred when Bipasha, who is a staunch Bengali, decided to participate in the Durga Puja festivities at The North Bombay Sarvojonin Durga Puja in Santacruz with boyfriend John Abraham.

“Bipasha and John came together for the Durga Puja in the evening and Bipasha was very excited as has always been part of Durga Pujas in Mumbai over the years. Just after the darshan, she was near the stage when some pervert groped her breasts. Bipasha, of course, was taken aback and flew into a fit of rage. People around her tried to calm her down. John too was present there and he whisked her away to calm her down. She even wanted to lodge a police complaint. However, she had second thoughts. As for the sick man, he quietly and promptly ran away, taking advantage of the commotion”, said an eyewitness.

John Abraham’s love for bikes is well-known but his lady love, actress Bipasha Basu, doesn’t like riding pillion with him for that very reason.

“Bipasha doesn’t like sitting on my bike because I am very passionate and possessive about my bike. When she sits, I keep saying ‘I hope you don’t leave a scratch on the bike and all that’, so that’s why she prefers a car to sitting behind me in a bike,” John told reporters here during an event.

John will be next seen in “Hook Ya Crook” and “1-1800 Love”.

When Mani Ratnam started shooting for his Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan starrer Raavana, everyone had been wondering if Abhishek’s real-life wife Aishwarya plays his wife in the film too. Soon news that Abhishek plays Raavana while Aishwarya plays Sita and Vikram plays her husband Rama in the film came to light. Mani had been looking for an actress who would be perfectly suited to play Ravana’s wife, Mandodari. The suspense is now over. Bipasha Basu has been signed on to play Mandodari, who was Ravana’s favourite wife.

A source from the industry says, “Bipasha immediately said yes to the role. She had agreed to do it a month ago but Mani Ratnam had given her strict instructions to not talk about it.”

“Bipasha’s costumes are ready. She is very happy with her look in the film. She is looking forward to joining the unit of Raavana,” adds our source.
