Deepika Padukone is flying high these days, for the actress will be joined by her parents on the sets of her latest film ‘Break Ke Baad’, which is currently being shot in Mauritius. The actress, who has been having a busy schedule of late, was terribly missing her family, and as a result, Deepika’s doting parents decided to visit their daughter.

Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Deepika’s diary is chock-a-block. Over the last six months she has been shooting for ‘Khelen Hum Jee Jaan Se’, ‘Lafange Parinde’ and now ‘Break Ke Baad’. In the midst of all this, she was also promoting her film ‘Housefull’ and other endorsements.”

“She has hardly spent time with her parents and has been missing them. She was missing them so much that they instantly decided they would go and visit her on the sets. Incidentally, they have never been on her sets before this. This will be the first time,” the source said.

After her bikini act in the latest blockbuster ‘Housefull’, Deepika Padukone is all set to undergo an image makeover for Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey.’ The long-legged lass will be seen in a new avatar, wearing a traditional Bengali saree, while playing a Bengali revolutionary. Deepika’s look has been designed by Bollywood stylist Neeta Lulla.

A period film, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ is based on Manini Chatterjee’s book ‘Do And Die’ and focuses on the 1930s Chittagong Uprising. Talking to a news daily on Deepika’s on-screen character, Ashutosh Gowariker said, “Deepika plays Kalpana Datta, one of my favourite characters in the movie. It showcases the grit and determination of the women of that time, when they were not allowed to participate in the freedom movement. But she braved the odds and took the gun in her hands to fight for the country.”

However, while performing some high action stunts in ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, Deepika’s struggled to maintain her balance in a saree. A source said, “Deepika was required to do some action scenes in the film. But the saree was causing a lot of problems. Every time she took the gun to shoot, or run, the saree would come in the way. It was quite a funny situation and initially some retakes were required. But by the end, Deepika learnt how to handle the saree like a pro.”

Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar have gifted iPads to Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone, who play lead roles in his new film “Lafange Parindey”, after the shooting was completed.

Deepika wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter: “Pradeep sarkar gifted me the ipad on completing ‘Lafangey’… yyiiipppeeee!!my new toy!!”

Neil also tweeted: “My director Mr. Pradeep sarkaar gifted me the “ipad” on completing” ‘Lafangey Parindey’.”

Made under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film is a gritty romance set on the streets of Mumbai. It is rumoured to be about bike gangs of Mumbai. Neil and Deepika will be seen doing daring stunts in the film.

Deepika Padukone made several heads turn as decided to go ahead with a Saree and not any western outfit at the Cannes Film Festival this year. And she looked like a million bucks, stunning, graceful, elegant and beautiful.

It has come to hear that she draped the saree all by herself. Now that she is back, when asked how she managed to wear the saree so elegantly,

Deepika said, she loves wearing saree’s and is very comfortable wearing it herself. She had learnt how to wear it during the modeling days and gradually got better with it.

“I actually learnt to wear the Bengali way. But there are a couple of other ways I would like to wear it. And since I was a model I can wear in less than 30 seconds!” she says.

Deepika Padukonehas once expressed her desire to act with Bollywood hunk Salman Khanand Salman too is crazy to act with the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress Deepika Padukone. Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotrihas decided to rope the two charming actors opposite each other. It is said that Salman is quiet impressed with Deepika’s acting and was waiting for the opportunity to knock his door.

Previously, it was heard that they were signed for Anees Bazmee’s upcoming film but later the rumor died down.

But uncertainty again hangs over their casting because of the two reasons. Firstly Deepika is a close buddy of Shahrukh Khan and Shahrukh is not in good terms with Salman. Secondly, Deepika’s ex boyfriend is rumored to have dating Salman Khan’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Whatever it may be, Salman and Katrina’s die-hard fans might be eagerly waiting to see them together scorching the silver screen.

Ranbir plays the lead role and after their bitter break-up last year, they have not spoken to each other. However, when Deepika got the offer, she was not surprised and is looking at the film professionally. She doesn’t want her personal equations to come in the way. Deepika will now have a final meeting before taking a call.”

WHAT would Bollywood be without catfights? We keep hearing stories of rivalries between actresses and their petty fights. So, when we came to know Deepika Padukone was good friends with Asin, it came as a breath of fresh air. Now, however, the buzz has it that their friendship is going sour, all because of a film.

The grapevine is abuzz with reports that once- upon- atime- pals Deepika and Asin don’t see eye- to- eye anymore.

The reason is believed to be Anees Bazmee’s untitled film, which is a remake of southern hit Ready.

What we learnt from our sources is that Deepika was first approached by Anees for the film, which also stars Salman Khan. But Deepika showed some reluctance in signing on the dotted line owing to her tight schedule. A source says,’ The moment Anees realised this, he rushed to Asin to sign her for the film.’ Now Asin is officially onboard but Deepika is miffed that she said yes to a film which was first offered to her.

We hear she was eyeing the role and was keen to work with Anees and Sallu. And this, it seems, has come in the way of their friendship.

Well, finally Deepika is all set to romance the two most handsome hunks in the bollywood industry. After a lot of buzz, Deepika is signed opposite Salman Khan in their forthcoming film Partner 2, starring Govinda and Salman.

And in the second slot, Deepika is all set to romance Hrithik Roshan in Krissh 2.

Deepika will star with both of them for the first time.

Definitely it’s an electrifying combo on silver screen.

Former super model Deepika Padukone walked the ramp on the fourth day of the ongoing 15th Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WLIFW) Autumn-Winter 2010 on Saturday at Delhi.

With Deepika Padukone as show stopper, designers G Pia Fleming and Namrata Joshipura showcased their collections on the fourth day. Fleming’s collection, showcasing mostly evening gowns, in the palette of whites, greys and off-whites, was inspired by the Broadway musicals of New York. Fleming’s motive is to present a collection for the red carpet at Indian award ceremonies.

Fleming designed a cream-coloured gown for Deepika.”I think both their collections were completely different. Pia’s was a lot more floral, lot more girly. Even in terms of colour, I think there were more pastel shades, whites, grey and off-white. Even the mood of the show was a lot more dreamy and musical,” Deepika added.
