Indian beauty Freida Pinto is going places. After bagging a role in Woody Allen’s film, the Slumdog Millionaire actress is set to portray a Greek priestess in War of the Gods.The film, about the Greek mythology, will be directed by Tarsem Singh and begins production in April.

The story revolves around a young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind, Variety reported online.

Pinto, 25, will portray Phaedra, an oracle priestess who must join Theseus, played by Henry Cavill of The Tudors fame. Phaedra joins Theseus to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting.

The film will be produced by Gianni Nunnari of Hollywood Gang Prods, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment and Relativity topper Ryan Kavanaugh. Nunnari and Canton partnered on 2007’s ‘300′, which starred Gerard Butler in the lead.

London, Freida Pinto is going places, literally. After bagging a role in a Woody Allen film, the “Slumdog Millionaire” star has now joined the cast of Israeli filmmaker Julian Schnabel’s “Miral”.

The 24-year-old shot to international fame after the success of Danny Boyle’s multiple Oscar-winning drama.

Adapted from Rula Jebreal’s book about Hind Husseini, who founded an orphanage in Jerusalem in the wake of the 1948 partition of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel, the screenplay for the film is written by Schnabel himself, reports Variety magazine.

The film is to be shot in Israel and the Palestinian territories with filming to begin April 19.

Earlier, Freida was selected for Allen’s untitled project opposite the likes of Sir Anthony Hopkins and Josh Brolin.

Freida Pinto, who has just bagged a role in Woody Allen’s next film, is determined to star alongside her schoolgirl crush Leonardo DiCaprio.

“I had a big crush on him back in school. I had this little Leonardo DiCaprio scrapbook with his picture on the front. Now, he’s going to think I’m a creep after this,” said the model-turned-actress who shot to fame with Danny Boyle’s multiple Oscar winning drama Slumdog Millionaire, reports contactmusic.com.

But if she fails to land DiCaprio as her leading man, Pinto has a back up in mind too.

“I’d have to say Jack Nicholson. He’s the one person I’ve been dying to meet and for some reason, I just haven’t seen him anywhere,” she said.

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto, who recently broke up with her boyfriend of four years Rohan Antao, may have secretly married her ex two years back.

The actress was said to have called off her engagement to Rohan on January 15, but Britain’s Daily Telegraph says that the couple clandestinely wed in Goa in 2007 deciding to keep the marriage under wraps to give Freida a greater chance of winning film roles.

“Freida and Rohan fell in love at college and were extremely close. They were great together. The marriage was an impulsive decision and both of them went to a designer to get the gown made,” a source close to the couple was quoted as saying by contactmusic.com.
