Katrina Kaif has been nominated in Filmfare 2010 Best Actress category for her performance in New York and she is hopeful of winning the award.

When Katrina was asked, who apart from herself should win the award, she said, “If I had to choose, apart from myself, I would choose Priyanka or Vidya. ‘Kaminey’ is one of my favourite films. And I loved Vidya in ‘Paa’. But why can’t I choose myself?”

Katrina further said that she will be happy if her movies win awards, she says, “Everybody wants to win. But I would want my movies to win. I am happy being nominated. I don’t want to go through that nail-biting experience of whether I am winning the award or not. As long as I am nominated, it is fine. And I am more than happy to be part of the event than winning any award. This is my second year at the Filmfare awards and I will be performing, too.”

When Katrina was asked about her boyfriend Salman Khan who has never won a Filmfare best actor award, she immediately said, “So please give me an award,” and the audience burst into laughter.

Katrina Kaif’s health is starting to worry those who know her. Only a little while after recovering from a long illness in the past few months, she has fallen ill again. The actress has been suffering from food poisoning since Monday night.

She has been advised complete bed rest by doctors. However, this will create problem in her busy schedule. She needs to dub for Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’ and it is a major cause of stress for her as it involves pure Hindi; something Katrina’s having trouble with. She has even admitted to having difficulty with the language as everyone else on the team can say the dialogues with ease while she has to struggle with it.

Her illness may have been brought on by her stressful routine. Now that she has been advised rest, she even had to skip the announcement of the Filmfare awards on Tuesday. She feels bad about being unable to attend the event and hopes she recovers soon.

Sexiest of the lot, Katrina Kaif who is said to have charged 50 Lac for 20 minutes almost met with a wardrobe malfunction at a high profile sangeet party of Radhika Singhal and Saurabh Dhoot (Industrialist) at a bungalow on Amrita Shergill Marg. Katrina was in the Capital on Wednesday to receive an achievement award.

A reliable source reveals, “Things went kaput when Katrina almost met with a wardrobe malfunction. The star pocketed Rs. 50 Lakhs for her 20-minute performance. The star was so engrossed that she didn’t realize that her choli had malfunctioned exposing her lower torso. The front bencher guests managed to grab some of Kats stills on their cameras.

“Kat’s enthusiastic and sexy dance routine with Saurabh went down well with the crowd, including Radhika, who happily surrendered her partner at Kat’s request,” source adds. Also present at the occasion were music director duo Vishal and Shekhar who performed too. Actors Abhay Deol and Nikhil Dwivedi and filmmaker Navdeep Singh were among the 1,500 guests present at the pre-wedding bash celebrating the match between families of two prominent industrialists of Delhi.

Katrina Kaif is all set to play the role of a wannabe item girl in her next film Tees Maar Khan.The movie, directed by Farah Khan and produced by her husband Shirish Kunder, will see Kaif pairing opposite Akshay Kumar, his co-star of hits like Namaste London, Welcome, Singh is King and recently released De Dana Dan.

“Yes, Katrina is playing a wannabe item girl in Tees Maar Khan. Beyond that I can’t reveal much about her character at this stage,” said producer Shirish Kunder.

This is for the first time in her career that Kaif would be enacting the character of an item girl. She has played a supermodel in her debut Boom, a rich heiress in De Dana Dan, a girl next door in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and a married woman with a kid in New York.

Kunder, who has also written the story, said they deliberated quite a lot on the leading lady for the movie before signing the actress.

“Self-belief is what keeps you going,” Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif said here after being honoured by Assocham for ‘Excellence in Performing Art’.

The 25-year-old actress who was recently voted the Sexiest Asian Woman Alive, was given the award for her contribution to the world of cinema.

“I think everyone wants to make the best of the opportunities you get in life. Everyone has a special place in the world and I think self-belief is the most important thing which keeps you going so you should never lose it,” Katrina told reporters here.

The actress, who had delivered hits like ‘Ajab Prem Ki Hazab Kahani’, ‘New York’ and ‘De Dana Dan’ last year, was to receive the award from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, but she was not able to turn up because of “political commitments”.

Katrina Kaif owes her career to the ‘Khan’daan; a fact she recently woke up to. And such was her realization that she didn’t mind thanking the Khan family and specially Salman Khan for making what she is today on primetime television. Finally, credit is given where it’s due. Nice job Kat!

On an episode of Lift Kara De she said, that it is Salman Khan and the Khan family who are responsible for what she is today. There is also designer Anna Singh and directors David Dhawan and Anees Bazmee (all friends of Salman, of course) who helped her rocket to B-Town stardom. Hmm…guess what Salman might be feeling now!

But she sidestepped host Karan Johar’s query about her relationship status. She said that she believes that until one is married, he/she is single! Well…that’s smart Kat! You surely know how to bite the cake yet stay pristine nonetheless!

Katrina Kaif is all set to star opposite Greek god of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan in Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming movie.

Zoya Akhtar’s movie starrs Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan. Apparently Katrina has a killer role in the male dominated movie.

When Farhan Akhtar is asked about Katrina’s inclusion in the movie, Farhan says, ts too early to talk about it, but yes, if Katrina does come into our project, she will be cast opposite Hrithik. He is the only one who gets to romance his love interest. Abhay and I have no love interest in the film.”

The movie is about the friendship between three friends Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay.

Katrina Kaif believes that she will settle down and get married in the year 2012. Katrina is also not looking out for a new home because just after two years she will be shifting to her husband’s home.

Katrina says, “I’ll get married and go to my husband’s home. Why put in so much money into a new home when I have a perfectly comfortable one at the moment?”

When Katrina was asked about her groom, she did not react. Well Katrina’s marriage is only two years away.:)

Apparently, things are not well between the two KKs – Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. But then that’s what happens when two pretty women with humongous egos come together. Last heard, the glam dolls have been openly criticising and talking about their dislike for each other at the recently held Star Screen Awards, held at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

So when the organisers asked Bebo to give away an award to Katrina, she simply refused saying that Kat too had declined to give away her a trophy, so why should she? Point taken Bebo!

But knowing Katrina, who has always been politically correct, what prompted her to do so we wonder. Perhaps the paycheques! Remember, Kareena is the highest paid actress in B-town.

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘close friend’ Katrina Kaif bumped into his ex-flame Deepika Padukone at a shoot recently. Both girls exchanged cold stares before Katrina walked out, with her nose in the air. Needless to say, acknowledging each other was not on their agenda.

It may be recalled that Ranbir Kapoor became really close friends with Katrina Kaif while he was dating Deepika.

Deepika was doing a magazine photo shoot in the open area of Mehboob Studio. A source said that Deepika had come with Farhan Akhtar for her photo shoot. Somewhere around late afternoon, Deepika was giving her solo shots in the garden area of the studio. While Deepika was doing her last minute touch-up, there was pin drop silence and all eyes swivelled to the entrance. While the whole film fraternity is comparing Salman’s Veer co-actress Zarine Khan with Katrina Kaif, Salman is repeatedly denying it.

When Salman attended a dance reality show to promote his movie Veer, he said to Mithun Charaborty, : “Dada, the press guys are hell-bent on making me accept that Zarine (’Veer’) looks like Katrina and I’m tired of telling them she is not even close to her.”

“Nobody knows Katrina better than me and I’m telling you guys, Zarine does not look like Katrina.”

The brawl between Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif has taken a new turn. Both the actresses are always in news for competing one another. Though Kareena Kapoor claims that she is not competing with any actresses and satisfied with her own space, the actress has recently shown her disliking for her rival Katrina Kaif. She refused to give away award to Katrina Kaif

In a recent award function, when the organizers asked Bebo to give a particular award to Kat, she declined saying that in the past Kat has done the same to her and now why not she should do the same now.

Kareena and Katrina might be in war but in public both the actress showers love and praise for one another. Katrina even praised Kareena for performing stupendously well in some of her films and said that those films will be incomplete without her. Kareena once commented that Kat is very sweet to her and there is no any rivalry between them considering that they are actresses of different genres of films.

Kareena Kapoor is highly disgusted now. She might have been the first size-zero actress, who has some good performances to her credit but this fact does not seem to stop gossipmongers from pitting Kareena against Katrina. And this constant comparison between the two sizzlers has become a big worry for Bebo.

The two have been compared for long but Kareena’s outburst happened after an article declared both actresses to be at par for their films in 2010. Confirming the news, a daily quoted a source as saying, “Bebo has been around for years and she has done tons of performance-oriented films. Her body of work is different. How can you compare them?”

From the hot quotient to their acting skills, Kareena and Katrina, are the only two actresses who have been locking horns for the top spot for long now. And it’s not only Kareena who detests the comparisons, Kat too has flaked the media for pitting her against other B-town ladies.
