The hottest bollywood babe Mallika Sherawat is making the most of her time at Cannes. The actress made it to the coveted list of the top 13 best-dressed celebs at Cannes this year.
The actress herself ascribes her dress sense to the company she keeps. “I think that it’s the result of hanging out with international designers,” she recently wrote.
While many Bollywood actresses have essayed the role of the icchadhari nagin, none have got quite as much publicity for it. However, Mallika says that Sridevi’s portrayal of the role is her favourite. “Comparisons are odious. Yet, Sridevi is in a league of her own. There can be no comparisons,” she says.
While at Cannes, the actress wasted no time in befriending Hollywood actors Gerard Butler, Ryan Gosling and Salma Hayek. But most importantly for Mallika, Roberto Cavalli complimented her lavishly when they met at a dinner.

Mallika Sherawat, who is undoubtedly maximising to its full extent the post-production period in the US for Hissss recently attended the New York Fashion Week where she appears to have made a big impact on celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan. “Mallika, you are not only the most beautiful Indian actress, you’re the most beautiful actress. Period!” he exclaimed, whilst entertaining her on his Fashion’s Night Out event.
After confirming with her that she was once known as the Kissing Queen of Bollywood, he went on to add, “Let me capture those luscious lips on my camera,” before making good his promise.
Attending the BCBG Max Azria show at the Fashion Week in a tight body-hugging black tube dress, Mallika confirmed that Max would be designing for her in future and has asked her to become the Indian face of his collection – possibly even walking the ramp for him at the Paris Fashion Show. “It will be an honour for me to represent such a talented designer who has dressed all the top Hollywood stars,” she said, “Regarding walking the ramp for him, it’s still a work in progress.”

Blood, gore, awesome sound effects form the crux of Hisss. Sherawat plays a woman who becomes a snake and then goes on a killing spree. The gruesome killing scenes definitely make you cringe and so does the getup of Mallika clad in a snake costume. It is not at all like what we’ve seen in our Sridevi popularised Nagin films before. It is the Anaconda-esque version of Nagin.
The only problem is the film is directed by Jennifer Lynch of Boxing Helena (1993) fame. Her film had won her a Raspberry award for the worst director in 1994.
After disappointing her fans in a blink and miss role in The Myth, we’ve heard Mallika apparently has no dialogues in Hisss too! Ahem… we hope the film is as good as its promo though.
