Rani Mukerji will shoot a romantic film in Malaysia’s Kuala Terengganu state in May. Mentri Besar, chief minister of the state that is located 500 km northeast of the national capital, has said his government is “excited that a Bollywood production house has selected Kuala Terengganu as its shooting location”.

This could boost the state’s tourism industry, reported The Star newspaper Wednesday. Picturesque Kuala Terengganu is on the Terrengganu river and is surrounded by South China Sea from three sides. Besar said the state government will procure a glass bottom barge for tourists to get close views of sharks and other marine lives.

He also said he had met the producer of the movie and read the script. But he did not disclose the names of other actors.

“The production house will disclose the list of actors and actresses including other details at a press conference before the start of the shooting,” he said.

Indian films and their actors, both from Mumbai and from Chennai, are popular in Malaysia, which is home to nearly two million members of the Indian diaspora.

One may not see an active Rani Mukherji on the screen these days. However the dark eyed beauty seems to be in good rapport with the biggies of the tinsel town…

The current buzz is that Rani has bagged a prestigious project from the coveted filmmaker Deepa Mehta. The director is bringing up a film which is in fact an adaptation of noted writer Salman Rushdie’s famed novel ‘Midnight’s Children’.

Birdies reveal that the filmmaker, author and our beauty had met earlier to discuss the project. Although Mehta is not keen to divulge about the happenings, sources close to the actress said that she will be in the film. The film, which is expected to go on floors this September, also said to star Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas and Nandita Das.

Meanwhile Deepa Mehta who is quite impressed with Rani is looking forward to work with her. The filmmaker doesn’t seem to be concerned about Rani’s current low box-office profile and said that she had always wanted to work with the actress. “I saw her work in Hey Ram, Black, Bunty Aur Babli and Veer-Zaara and loved it. She is among the best talent in India today,” stated Deepa.

Someone makes actress Rani Mukherji dance to her tunes. She is very close to Rani and is an apple of her eye. Rani likes her company. She is a sweet little girl Mysha who is niece of the actress.

A source says that Rani takes time off from her busy schedule and spends time with her.

Rani says that Mysha is the joy of her life. The little girl is her world. She loves to dance to the tune of Mysha as she adores her.

Mysha fondly calls Rani as Pipi. She is merely three-year-old and very talkative.

Rani Mukherji says that rumours about her getting married have started affecting her career.”These rumours have been going on for three years and they have started now affecting my career. Lot of filmmakers who approach me for roles start by asking whether I am getting married. They have apprehensions whether I can commit myself to their project,” Rani told PTI in an interview.

The numero uno actress also denied all the rumours about her leaving her posh Juhu bungalow because it had brought her ill luck and had moved back to her old flat at Andheri.”I have made the new house for my family from my hard work, sweat and blood. My house is my temple and how can I run away from it. I am being made to look like an insecure person which I am not,” Rani said.

Rani Mukherji, whose acting career seems to be downing will shift to her old house at Yari Road from her current residence at Juhu bungalow. Rani shifted to Juhu house early last year and given her old house on rent. Rani feels that the Juhu bungalow is inauspicious for her as none of the film after her shift has done good business. So she plans to shift at old house at Kalyan Complex on Yari Road before the release of her upcoming film Dil Bole Haddipa. And for this Rani has given orders to the tenants of her Juhu flat to vacate the house and eventually the tenants have already vacated it.

One source revealed, “After shifting to Juhu, Rani had rented out the Kalyan Complex house to a family. However, a couple of weeks ago, the tenants were asked to vacate the house since Rani has decided not to take any more chances. She will soon be shifting back to her old house where she became a big star. The tenants have already vacated the flat and Rani will be shifting there once the release date of Dil Bole Haddipa is finalised.”

As Salman’s ‘Dus Ka Dum’ is all setting up to wrap up, it has a lot of guest celebrities in store for its viewers. After Jeetendra and Tushaar Kapoor, Rani Mukherji, Lara Dutta and Rakhi Sawant will be seen sharing the television screen with Salman in the show.

Salman is known to get along very well with his celebrity guests and this was evident with the way Salman was made the studio echoed with laughter and enjoyment as entertained everybody with spotty one-liners. It seems that all is not going well for the Bengali beauty, Rani Mukerji. Not only has she been unable to deliver a hit at the BO, but it is believed that there is more trouble in her paradise.

According to reports, Rani has been ignoring beau Aditya Chopra (the scion of ‘Yash Raj Films’) since a long time and Adi is all perplexed as he is not aware of the reason. Apparently, she is miffed due to the fact that she granted the ‘man in her life’ (Adi) all the power to handle her career, which now seems to be heading nowhere. Insiders say, Mukerji babe is losing her cool as she’s not getting too many films and the ones that are coming her way are not great.

Looks like the lady has finally realised that she needs to look beyond YRF, Rani as of now has only one flick in her kitty and that too is a Yash Raj production. The starlet is also thought to be upset because in her opinion her previous films were not promoted the way they should have been and no wonder they bombed.

It is learnt that Mukerji is giving a cold shoulder to Adi (not even taking his calls) and concentrating on her career after putting her personal life at a back burner.

Hmmm… guess it is the right time for Adi to stop minting money and think of his lady love or else some other dilwala is going to take the dulhania away. Buck up Mr Chopra!

She clarified that she was in good terms with her own parents and also brushed out the media rumors aside which disclosed that she will opt for a bachelor life from now on like Sushmita Sen.
