Boney Kapoor is a troubled man these days. The producer is bearing the brunt of Kareena and Shahid Kapoor’s messy break-up as even after Bebo promised to go the extra mile and shoot a promotional video for ‘Milenge Milenge’; she refuses to act on her commitments.

Despite Boney arranging a separate shoot on her request so that she doesn’t have to bump into her ex-lover Shahid, she did not show up for the shoot.

The film that has been held on hold for the longest time now might not see the light of day. Talking about Kareena’s starry ways, a source said, “On Kareena’s say they decided to shoot the promotional video separately and merge them while editing. Shahid shot his part, and Bebo still had to finish her part. But the actress kept postponing and giving her dates to her other projects. She was busy shooting for Stepmom and now it is Golmaal 3 in Goa.”

The source continues, “Boney had a word with Kareeena while she was in Goa and plans were also getting implemented for them to go shoot her part in Goa. But her hectic schedule in Goa also cancelled this plan. Now that she is returning back to Mumbai, he plans to get her dates and finish off her portion for the promotional video as soon as possible.”

Shahid Kapoor is getting ready to start shooting his next film, Mausam after the super success of Badmaash Company. The film is the directorial debut of his father and well-known actor Pankaj Kapoor and starring opposite Shahid is Sonam Kapoor. Not a lot is known about the story of the film, only that it is a love story and that Shahid plays an air force officer.

About his role in the film Shahid has said, “The script is such that as an actor, I have to dedicate all my time and presence to it. It’s more to do with the subject and the character than anything else and you’ll see it for yourself once the film releases.”

Though they are not saying much in the press, Shahid has given some insight into the pre-production and his feelings about the film in his posts on Twitter.

He tweeted, “first round of look tests underway for mausam …… papa is always right people ..lesson number 1” Adding later, “whats up all looong day lots happening on the mausam prep trying to help dad out whenever i can gotta b an actor n son both on this one trying to figure how to balance both”

This is no joke. When it comes to telephone lines and internet connect with his fans, it is Shahid Kapoor who is poster boy for all ‘phoners’ — at least where ZOOM is concerned.

As many know, the industry’s first (and only) ‘100% Bollywood channel’ has launched a new show called Ring-A-Star where the star takes calls on TV, even as callers can connect directly with him and speak via phones and SMS call-ins. Tonight it’s the industry hottie who is gonna take calls from his fans from all over the world — some of who will stay awake at odd hours across the world to chat with their Badmaash Company hero. And ever since we’ve opened lines to log the callers, we’ve already been flooded with calls from fans of Shahid for Ring-A-Star, from all over the world. At last count, over 2,000-plus calls from all part of the globe.

When we told Shahid that he may have to face a deluge later today, he couldn’t stop grinning and is eager as hell to connect with his fans directly.

Recently, we caught sight of a bearded Shahid — it’s hard not to! — while he was out doing promotional work for his upcoming films, Paathshaala which releases this Friday and Badmaash Company. The reason for the bearded look, we found out, is for his father Pankaj Kapoor’s next film, Mausam, in which he plays an air force pilot.

Nithya Ramani quizzed Shahid about his many looks, his childhood crushes and how he became independent at a young age. Excerpts:
We couldn’t recognise you in this new look. Is this for Mausam?

I’ll take that as a compliment [smiles]. Yes, it is for Mausam.

When I was promoting Jab We Met, I was in my Kismet Konnection look –with long hair. When I was promoting Kismet, I was in my Kaminey look. And while promoting Kaminey I was in my Badmaash Company look. Now I’m promoting Paathshala in my Mausam look.

The chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor, litteraly impresses the A-listers of the industry when he burns the stage on fire with his wild dance moves.

In a recent award function, Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan were completely smitten by his exceptional tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. With his awesome performance, he left the crowd dying for more.

King Khan and Saif Ali Khan, were left speechless and have become avid fans of his dance moves.

According to our sources, King Khan and Saif Ali khan were heard saying:

“Arrey yaar this boy is so good. We must learn to dance like him.”

Last week Karan Johar played the catalyst, making Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor not only acknowledge each other’s presence but actually strike up a conversation, and a pretty warm one at that. The venue for this patch up was Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat, where King Khan had hosted a celebration for My Name Is Khan. Says a source, “Shahid and Kareena came face to face and everyone thought they would simply ignore each other like they have on so many occasions in the past. But this time, Karan happened to be present right there and instead of marching past each other, they slowed down for a bit. And the rest, as they say, is history.”

Even after the ice was broken, neither Shahid or Kareena seemed in a rush to get back to more comfortable company. They had a pretty warm exchange and a little later even Saif, who was present at the party, joined them.

Pankaj Kapoor is all set to make his directorial debut with “Mausam” with son Shahid in the lead. The father is confident that Shahid`s varied acting skills will surprise everyone. “I know people would be curious to know what we`re making together. That would be a big USP for me. Shahid has great potential. People have always seen him as a chocolate-box hero. But in `Kaminey` we could see another side of him,” Pankaj told reporters.

“Shahid`s USP are his dancing skills and fluent diction. For `Mausam`, I required an actor with range. I`ve a gut feeling my son is going to surprise not just the audience but also me,” he added.

Pankaj says that Shahid wanted to work him.”The idea was to do something meaty and challenging. We should be starting in another two-three months. We`re into pre-production. I`ve written a lot of scripts which I couldn`t direct and could only star in. When Shahid became an actor, he expressed a desire to be directed by me, I thought it`d be wonderful to work with my own son.

Anushka Sharma did smooch Shahid for three times in Parmeet Sethi’s flick under YRF but is not elated about it. Who cares? A source said that the kisses are not the brush-of-the-lips type. They are full-on smooches. Reportedly, Anushka shared great chemistry with Shahid when they were shooting for this film in the States. They had gelled very well and seemed to be enjoying each other’s company very much. And nobody blames YRF or Parmeet Sethi if they decided on the three smooches because they wanted to exploit that chemistry and have it translated on screen as well.

As if we didn’t have any thundering chemistries on screen without the kissing plots! But Anushka was not comfortable. Parmeet had to do a lot of cajoling. Finally, he managed to convince her. It’s not easy to be smooch-candid! Isn’t it Anushka? How did Shahid take the whole kisses episode? A source revealed that he had no problem at all. As expected!

In a recent interview, Vidya Balan has given ample hints that she and Shahid were once dating, however things got sour between them to an extent that they won’t be working together anymore.Check out the interview.

Did the caustic comments about your weight finally get to you?
I won’t say that I was immune to them. But you see, I was going through a lot of confusion in my head on a lot of fronts. I started taking a few things for granted. I became complacent. And I lost interest. Till Kismet Connection, everything was going well for me and then suddenly…

Okay, what triggered off the need to lose weight?
Well, my mom sat me down and told me that I needed to feel good about myself. I think that I was trying to be someone else. I was desperately trying to fit into a certain mould (pauses)

(Looks up at the ceiling) It was not about my weight and clothes. Those caustic comments were coming because I looked unhappy. I was exuding a certain amount of unhappiness.

Its now very clear that Pankaj Kapur is going on a nationwide search for a girl for his son Shahid Kapoor, for his directorial debut Mausam. But he’s hit by a roadblock or should we say son-block? Apparently, Shahid is keen that his father cast Katrina Kaif in the movie. Quite an impression you have made Kat…it seems the whole industry just wants you. You can send your PR stuff on an extended holiday till the time you have actors like Shahid pitching in for you.

A source revealed that after working with A-list actresses such as Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif is the next actress on Shahid’s wishlist. He thinks Katrina is extremely talented and would love to work with her in a film. His father’s movie is a love story and Shasha (Shahid) finds Katrina apt for the role. So why the high drama of going on a massive girl hunt across the nation? Camouflages don’t always work Shahid!
