Shilpa Shetty says she belongs to a spiritual movement that believes the only way out of the present global financial crisis is through natural calamities - because the world is “overpopulated”.

“I belong to a movement called the Oneness University who expect things in the financial environment to get worse before 2012.

“It’s very logical - the world is overpopulated and we suffer things like global warming and poverty as a result. The only way to achieve balance is to let nature take its course through natural calamities,” she told The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

In an interview on matters of personal finance, she was asked if she believed the current market difficulties were happening for a reason.

Shetty said that from a “spiritual perspective” she did not think “anyone needs to be apologetic about being successful or having money”.

Shilpa Shetty has no qualms about declaring her love to the world. She loves London based Raj Kundra and finds no reason in hiding her feelings. The duo has officially declared that they are a couple and will soon tie up into matrimonial bond. “What’s the point hiding your feelings for each other. And above all what are we scared of?” asks Shilpa. Since her would be husband is a resident of London, the country has become a second home to Shilpa. Every time, she shuffles between London and India and Raj, for her convenience has gifted Shilpa a house in London.

However, Shilpa does agree that the house deal in London did take place. “It’s Raj’s house. He invested in the house because London now is like a second home for me. There are times when I’m in London and Raj is in India,” she laughs. When quizzed about the London house being a gift to Shilpa from her would be husband, she blushes pink. On a concluding note she says: “I’m very superstitious about these things. Nazar lag jaati hai…”

Amitabh Bachchan says that Shilpa Shetty, who performed with him in the US for his Unforgettable concert, is upset with him for not wishing her on her birthday, especially because she believes she has a good year whenever the Big B says happy birthday to her.

“The show is now joined by Shilpa Shetty. She looked lovely as always and very trim. She displayed mock anger at meeting me because I missed wishing her on her birthday. Horrible me,” Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.

This week has been really tough on actress Shilpa Shetty, who is hosting the second season of “Bigg Boss”. First Jade Goody’s traumatic adieu and then item girl Rakhi Sawant’s allegation that a contestant on the show has been changed because of her manoeuvres.

The show went on air Aug 17 on newly launched channel Colors.

When questioned about Rakhi’s allegation, Shilpa told IANS: “I don’t even want to talk about her. But I was very hurt. I really like Rakhi. Why was she talking this way about me without knowing the facts? How does she know the facts about how contestants were chosen?
